The AMX550 scan tool won the Gold Medal at POZNAŃ INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR. This prestigious award was won at Poznań Motor Show, Poland's largest automotive fair, which took place on 24-30 May, 2001.

The AMX550 tester tool is a compact portable microprocessor device designed to read data from onboard diagnostic systems. It can be successfully used to run diagnostic tests on:
- All OBDII/EOBD-compliant vehicles (independent of manufacturer/make).
- Daewoo-FSO vehicles (not equipped with the OBDII/EOBD).
- VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda vehicles (not equipped with the OBDII/EOBD).

OBDII/EOBD Support: The AMX550 scan tool supports all data transmission protocols currently applied in these systems: ISO 9141, ISO 14230 (Keyword 2000), SAE J1850 (PWM/VPW), ISO 15765 (CAN).
Daewoo-FSO: Polonez (Abimex single-point and multi-point injection-ignition systems and Bosch single-point injection-ignition systems), Lublin II/III (petrol engines), Daewoo Nexia, Espero, Leganza, Matiz, Lanos, Nubira, Nubira2.
VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda: all models, all ECMs.

The + mark next to a function indicates that the AMX550 scan tool can execute that function.
The -mark next to a function indicates that the function is not available in the listed diagnostic mode (the vehicle's ECM does not "support" the related diagnostic procedure).

¹ Although it would be technically possible to establish communication with any controller (ABS, Airbag, etc.) provided that the controller in question supported an OBDII/EOBD-compliant communication protocol, at present, such controllers are not commonly found.

The AMX550 design uses a specialized single-chip micro-controller, which connects to the following system components:

• FLASH memory (which can be used, for example, to extend the system's functionality with new features, to download the firmware and record diagnostic data).
• 192x128 resolution LCD graphic display.
• 20-key keyboard
• Real time clock (RTC).
• USB and RS232 connector for communicating with a PC.
