AUTOMEX AMX 710 glass transparency meter is a portable tool designed to measure transparency of automotive glass in motor vehicles. Its design and functionality conform to the recommendations of the Polish PN-81/B-15153 norm. The device measures the actual light transmittance of the vehicle's glass relative to air.
The measurement kit consists of:
- Light Source (illuminator) - a precise, low-power, halogen lamp that ensures stable operation.
- Receiver - semiconductor detector corresponding to the human eye sensitivity during the day.
- Control Panel - a microprocessor system controlling the measurement process.
- A rechargeable battery (optional) - when the device is powered from this optional source it doesn’t need to be supplied with electricity from the vehicle.
The Illuminator and the Receiver head is made from light durable metals and alloys that ensure safe and uninterrupted operation. The Control Panel is build into a compact plastic encasing conveniently fitting in a hand. The front panel contains an LCD (two 20-character lines) and 10-key tactile keypad.

Ergonomic design, thanks to strong rare earth magnets the illuminator and the detector are fixed firmly to the windscreen or side-window, so the technician who is carrying out the test can operate the device comfortably using both their hands.
Friendly user-interface, a quality LCD display has been employed to display the results of current measurements, to communicate error messages and to present current status of the apparatus.
Small size and light weight, weight: 700 g.
Automatic compensation of inclination, the angle skew of a measuring set influences the resulting accuracy of the device, due to the nature of halogen tungsten lamp. The algorithm is capable of eliminating the distortion resulting from a change in the inclination angle thanks to information from built-in integrated accelerometers.
Wrong assignment protection, during the test the illuminator has to be placed on the outer side of the assessed glass as this makes the conditions of test more real and accurate. Wrong assignment is detected and an appropriate message is produced on the display.
Ambient light resistant, the influence of ambient light is compensated for during every single test thanks to additional measurements taken for the sake of compensation.
No calibration required before every measurement, the influence of temperature and inclination angle is internally compensated so you can simply calibrate the device during a scheduled check-up or in case of a well-based suspicion that it needs to be calibrated.
Battery-powered memory, the AMX520 device includes an internal battery-powered memory capable of storing up to 10 test results.
Dedicated software for Windows, logged data can be up-loaded, or stored on the hard disc and printed out using standard printer. There are two different communication interfaces available: USB or RS232.
