The AMX212 PMO is the main measurement module incorporated in the AMX 20x testing bed measurement system. It allows you to accurately read major variables characterizing a state of an object (the RMP of the crankshaft and torque on the shaft connecting the combustion engine with the dynamometer). It also lets you measure corrected power (i.e. calculated to reflect the power under the reference conditions). The measurement output data are then used in the AMX 211 regulator unit and in the display unit in the AMX 211G. As the AMX212 PMO utilizes digital measurement of torque and RPM, readings that it obtains have a basic accuracy of 1 RPM within its reading range of 0-15,000 RPM. Digital measurement makes it possible to achieve the accuracy of 0.1% of the functional sensor range. Measurement output is also unaffected by temperature interference. An automatic thermal calibration of the full measurement channel is performed periodically to eliminate interference due to current fluctuations and amplification of the analogue amplifier. The AMX212 PMO operator panel has two 5-digit LED displays, four arrow keys and six function keys. Additionally, there are five indicator lights on the AMX212 PMO operator panel, which are used to inform you of the status of the device.

On turning on, the AMX212 PMO displays the shaft RPM on its top LED display (see the figure on the left). The bottom LED display can show you one of the following values:
  - torque;
  - power;
  - power relative to normal conditions.

In order to have the bottom LED display show the type of value that you want to see on use the arrow keys to scroll and select your value. The indicator lights marked as D1, D2, and D3 to the left of the keys will indicate which value is currently displayed. Additionally, the AMX 212PM0 can automatically turn the diesel engine on and off, an option available only if the test bed is equipped with the starter-motor and the actuator to switch the diesel engine off.
